Writing Our World™ Terms of Service

Last Updated: 2/2/2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Writing Our World™ curriculum, website, digital content, memberships, and related services (collectively, the “Services”), operated by Redwood Literacy (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

By creating an account, enrolling in free or paid access, or using the Services in any way, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not access or use the Services.

1. Eligibility

The Services are intended for adults aged 18 and older. By using the Services, you represent that you meet this requirement or have appropriate authorization from a parent, guardian, or institution.

2. Nature of the Services

Writing Our World™ is a digital educational curriculum delivered online. All materials are accessed electronically through an online platform.

You acknowledge and agree that:

  • No physical products are provided
  • Access requires an internet connection and compatible device
  • Content may be updated, revised, or expanded over time
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access

3. Accounts and Access

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

You may not share your account or login credentials with others. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access if misuse or unauthorized sharing is detected.

4. Memberships, Payments, and Billing

Personal Payments

Writing Our World™ operates as a membership service. Payments are processed automatically according to the plan selected at checkout (monthly or annual).

Purchase Order Payments

If payment is made via school or district purchase order:

  • Membership begins on the date the purchase order is received
  • Membership terminates one year later unless renewed
  • An invoice may be issued prior to renewal
  • If payment is not received by the end of the term, access will be terminated
  • Any prior discounts are forfeited upon expiration

5. Cancellations and Refunds

Due to the digital nature of the Services and the inability to return access once granted, all sales are final and no refunds are provided, except where required by law.

You may cancel future billing at any time through the designated cancellation process:

  • Cancellations stop future charges only
  • Access continues until the end of the current billing period
  • No prorated or partial refunds are issued

We strongly encourage users to review available sample materials before purchasing.

If you cancel and later rejoin, access will be reinstated at the current membership rate, regardless of prior discounts.

6. Intellectual Property and License

All content provided through Writing Our World™, including but not limited to lessons, worksheets, anchor charts, slide decks, videos, text, images, and assessments, is the exclusive intellectual property of Redwood Literacy and is protected by applicable copyright, trademark, and other laws.

You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the materials for personal, classroom, or instructional use only.

You may not:

  • Share, sell, sublicense, or redistribute materials
  • Upload materials to public or shared platforms
  • Create derivative works
  • Use content for commercial resale or competing products

Unauthorized use may result in immediate termination of access and legal action.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Misuse the Services or interfere with platform functionality
  • Violate applicable laws or regulations
  • Attempt to access restricted areas or systems
  • Engage in data mining, scraping, or automated access

We reserve the right to restrict or terminate access at our sole discretion.

9. User-Generated Content and Community Areas

If the Services include forums, discussions, or interactive areas:

  • We do not pre-screen or monitor content
  • We do not endorse user statements or materials
  • You are solely responsible for your contributions

We reserve the right to remove content or restrict access at any time, for any reason, without notice.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Redwood Literacy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages arising from your use of the Services.
